Job Summary: Based in York, PA, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our Sales team with the design and implementation of material handling storage solutions. This ranges basic racking layouts to more advanced, complex storage systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze application requirements and recommend possible solutions and/or alternatives
- Prepare layouts and detail drawings for new projects of modifications to current projects
- Perform project estimates, provide quotes and review proposals
- Analyze facility planning/design objectives with an understanding of product flow and movement
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scope, from design and quote to installation and final customer acceptance
- Create and execute project work plans, revising as appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements
- Support Sales team & customer to ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Demonstrate project management, leading on job site during installation
- Communicate with sales team, suppliers, customers and end users
- Assure projects' legal documents/contracts are completed and signed to minimize Pengate's exposure and risk on projects
- Ensure project documents are complete, current and appropriately stored
- Manage all project budgets
- Communicate relevant product information and completion status when prompted
- Plot, print and copy drawings
- Develop and train Sales team as it relates to racking, storage and all other allied products
- Build and Nourish relationships with existing suppliers and cultivate new relationships as they relate to storage products
Qualifications:
- Possesses Bachelor's Degree (with focus on engineering or relevant field experience)
- Possesses formal mechanical drafting training ceritification and 2+ years of experience (or equivalent work experience)
- Possesses pallet racking or material handling experience (strongly preferred)
- Able to read engineering drawings and use standard tools to identify dimensions, angles, tolerances, etc.
- Demonstrates proficiency in computer design (AutoCAD or similar design software)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Possesses strong problem-solving, organizational, project-management and time-management capabilities
- Able to develop and execute a plan with limited supervision
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills (written, verbal and aural)
- Exhibits detail orientation with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Able to manage complex and significant projects
