Job Summary: We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to add to our office team in our York, PA location. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual that requires minimal supervision and will assist and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. The successful candidate will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training and development, departmental development, benefits, compensation, employment and recruiting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with updating and communicating all company policies and procedures, including the Pengate employee handbook
- Assist with recruiting needs by placing employment ads, facilitating screenings and tracking the selection of applicants
- Conduct new-hire orientations
- Continuously update and amend all HR databases and organizational charts, policies and forms
- Assist with annual performance reviews for hourly and salaried workforce
- Assist with renewal of all health insurance and benefit plans
- Track employee eligibility for all benefits
- Assist in preparation of special events, including employee meetings and other company gatherings
- Assure compliance with company policies, as well as federal, state and local employment laws
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a high level of discretion/confidentiality
- Possesses knowledge and experience in various HR functions, including workers' compensation, LTD, STD, FMLA, 401k and COBRA
- Possesses excellent communication skills: written, verbal and listening
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Able to work in an environment with constant interruptions
- Able to proficiently multi-task
- Possesses strong mental ability to maintain a calm demeanor under pressure or stress
- Able to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Demonstrates experience with ADP and payroll processing (not required, but a strong plus)
- Shows familiarity and experience with social media outlets in employee engagement (not required, but a strong plus)
- Proficiency in PC applications (MS Office Suite, HR database)
- Able to interact with all executives, managers and employees, company-wide
