In this role, you'll undertake duties that include pre-start checks, planned maintenance, and breakdown repairs on customer forklifts and material-handling equipment.

About the Opportunity:

  • You will work with customers to mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment following customer safety and housekeeping guidelines.
  • You will typically leave from home every morning and work with minimal direct supervisions at various customer sites.
  • You must exhibit a professional demeanor, promoting goodwill between the company and its customers by providing a superior level of customer service.
  • You will provide the personal tools required for performing the job effectively and safely, keeping all tools clean and in good working order.
  • You will be required to prepare the necessary documentation relating to each service call in a neat and accurate manner.
  • You should be prepared to maintain a clane, stocker, organized, and hazard-free service van, assuring regular maintenance is performed (i.e. oil changes, tire rotations, etc.).
  • You will provide shop and field training to new technicians in order to supplement our formal training programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • An accredited high school diploma or technical degree from a trade school or 2-year college
  • 1-3 years of similar mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic experience
  • A valid Driver's License and clean motor vehicle record with the ability to drive multiple hours on a daily basis
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and training materials
  • Ability to follow verbal and demonstrated instructions
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Ability to demonstrate a solid mechanical and electrical aptitude, effectively utilizing volts, ohms, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and maintain a solid understanding of industry innovations and product availability in order to make recommendations according to customer needs
  • Ability to safely operate drills, grinders, presses, forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes while demonstrating good safety practices, including the use of of appropriate safety equipment
  • Familiarity with PC applications for iPad and Computers in order to diagnose equipment issues

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds and consistently lift 20 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to climb up to 8 feet using a ladder
  • Extensive walking up to 3-5 miles per day
  • Extensive driving up to 2-3 hours per day
  • Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing, and pulling
  • Exposure to noise, heat, cold, and slippery, wet, and dirty conditions
